A Few Tweaks

It's time for a few tweaks.

For most of us, January is a time to begin again. Drink more water, eat healthy, make a few changes - those are my usual plans in January.

I am always slow to get started. Or, maybe it takes me a while to work up the courage. Last night I finally switched my template over the the "new" Blogger. I tried this once before and it was a disaster. I chickened out.

But I wanted to warn you: If you blog has been listed here, it will take a while to get it back on the site. I've started with the blogs that have been with me since 2006. I will be adding more as time permits, possibly later today.

And the radishes? Well, they've always been breakfast food in my family. The photo was taken at the market in Cahors.

Mimi - good for you for taking the plunge into the new blogger! The radishes for breakfast sounds just delightful. Will you be posting more recipes soon? I always look forward to your posts.

I love the new design. January really is a good month for tweaking!

Yes, more recipes soon. Life has been a bit busy lately.

Thanks, Lydia. I have a few issues with ledding to resolve. Tweaking is the reason I love January.

Looking good so far Mimi - BTW - I'm making the roast chicken with pears and shallots for dinner tonight. It was so good last time. It's 8 degrees here and snowed last night - more snow for this afternoon. We have indeed had a long hard more "typical" Nebraska winter this year - good for comfort foods like roast chicken. Have a good week!

Trish, your temps are only a bit higher than ours. We are home, snuggling today.

My husband is making roast beef.

I am so glad I just found your blog. It always feels like a discovery when I read something and it clicks. Will be checking in often.

Thanks, Susan! I am finally having some time here to do some needed housekeeping. I hope to make some improvements.

I love your new look. I've been tweaking my home and trying to stay off the computer for awhile. Way too far behind the dust bunnies are everywhere.

Judy, I have those dust bunnies, too. The new look is growing on me

Everything looks great Mimi, though I cannot imagine eating radishes at breakfast time ;)

I've also missed seeing recipes. Please keep posting photos from your trip. I'm missing France right now and I know there will be no traveling there this year for me :(

Fiona, I've had radishes with toast and a hard-boiled egg for many a breakfast.

Eileen, I have lots of French photos to share.

I never wanted FKIA to be only a recipe blog, but I have found I have plenty to say about non-food-related topics, so I know have a new blog for that. It's called Around my Table and it's under the My Blogs heading in the sidebar.

I love your tweaks, Mimi! The top photo is wonderful and I'm so glad we get to see your lovely face again. I've been working on my blog template for over a month now and still don't have it "right" enough to put up. I don't dare switch to the new blogger because I will lose so many of the changes I've made to the old one. Sigh!

Christine, I have lost everything and some of it I cannot figure how to get back. Like Google Analytics, for example. I guess I will have to put a link in my template, which does not want to take such links.

I have mixed feelings, but I like the way it looks.

Thanks for the feedback!

My mum does her weekly shop in Cahors. I love the market by the church and especially the food hall - yum!

We've taken tons of photos at the market, Le Laquet. My husband shoots street life and I shoot food. Our favorite stop seems to be the baker carts, but I love the spices, and of course, the lavendar vendors.

Tweaking can be very scary...
Well done!
I like the new look.

I was scared. I have lost tons of stuff in tweaking. From Google Analytics to all my little badges and buttons.
