Today was one of those days of water-y light, of a pale sun slipping gamely though putty colored clouds. I took a later noon hour and picked up a wonderful chicken curry salad at the Italian Market. Chef V, about to open his own restaurant, knows my weaknesses and he lured me over to the deli counter. I succumbed.
Among my comfort foods are salmon, rice, eggplant, and squash.
What are yours just now? If you are like me - and I think you might be - they change with the season.

Québec City
Merci, Anne. J'adore soup, aussi.
Oh Mimi, I just read my text and there are many mistakes. Sorry, I writed too fast.
So, what's new in your town?
Here, in Québec, the weather is now real nice. Did you ever go to Quebec City?
Unfortunately, Anne, no we did not. My husband wanted to go to Chicago instead. If we do not get to Paris next year, then I want to go to Quebec, if not before.
Our weather has been lovely - Saturday we hit 70!
I must try to find some time for this blog on the weekend...
My comfort foods are anything that has a gravy or sauce - and plenty of it - followed by a dessert !
Mimi, I am having a seasonal shift since coming to Florida. But I do have my Mother's Thanksgiving dressing in the oven so I am happy with the smell of bread, celery, onions and poultry seasoning. I will be posting a Kitchen Reveal entry soon. I would love to see your kitchen, even just a corner of it. I hope you will particpate.
If you want to go to Quebec City, it will be a pleasure to meet you.
I have a lovely cottage near on the lake too, in Mauricie. We go there specially during the summer. Be my guest!

Soup -- virtually any kind, but lobster bisque would be a welcome sight.

Gravy always sounds good, Fiona. It was made for comfort.
Hmm. Penny, that's an idea! If I can get a good photo.
Well, merci, Anne!
Oh, Christy, that sounds so good!
Interesting blog you got here. It would be great to read something more concerning this topic. Thank you for giving that info.
